Our services
Three kinds of help. One standard of checking.
Counselling, physiotherapy and home visits, delivered by independent practitioners across the UK. We confirm every registration at source before a profile appears here, and the fee is on the profile, so you never have to make an enquiry to find out what it costs.
Registration verified
Confirmed with BACP, UKCP, NCPS or HCPC before the profile goes live, then again every year.
Fees shown upfront
The session fee is on the profile. No enquiry required to find out the price.
Seen within days
Most practitioners have openings inside a fortnight. Many can see you the same week.
Private from the start
Nothing you tell us reaches a practitioner until you decide to make contact.

Counselling
Talking therapy for couples, families and individuals.
Eight areas, from the argument you keep having to the year after an affair. Sessions are usually weekly and 50 minutes. You don't both have to come, and you don't need to be in crisis to start.
Offered by selected practitioners. Ask when you get in touch.

Physiotherapy
For the body carrying it all.
Stress lives in the shoulders and the lower back long before anyone calls it stress. HCPC-registered physiotherapists for pain, recovery and mobility, treated as part of your wellbeing rather than separately from it.
Offered by selected practitioners. Ask when you get in touch.

Home Sessions
When getting there is the obstacle.
Some people can't travel. Some can't sit in a waiting room where they might be recognised. Selected practitioners visit you at home, with the same registration checks as everyone else here.
Offered by selected practitioners. Ask when you get in touch.

How it works
Four steps, and you can stop at any of them
Nobody is asked to commit to a course of anything before they have spoken to a person.
- 1
Say what is going on
A few questions about what you are dealing with, and how you would rather be seen: in person, by phone, or online.
- 2
See who fits
Practitioners who work with that, shown with their fee, their register, the languages they speak and their next free appointment.
- 3
Book directly
Pick a time from the practitioner’s own calendar. No waiting for a call back, no back-and-forth over email.
- 4
Decide afterwards
A first session is not a course of therapy. If the fit is wrong, go back and choose somebody else.

Why this exists
“Counsellor” is not a protected title in the UK
Anyone may use the word. No qualification is required to advertise as one, and no register has to accept you. That gap is the reason this platform exists — and the reason every claim on a profile here has been checked against a source that is not us.
Checked with the register, not the applicant
We contact BACP, UKCP, NCPS or HCPC directly. An uploaded certificate is not evidence on its own.
Indemnity insurance confirmed and dated
Cover has to be current. We record the expiry date and chase it before it runs out.
Re-checked every year
A registration that lapses takes the listing down with it.
No paid placement
Practitioners subscribe to be listed. Nobody can pay to appear higher in your results.
Complaints go somewhere real
Every listed practitioner belongs to a register with a complaints procedure, and we tell you which one.

Before you ask
The questions people ask first
How much does it cost?
Fees are set by each practitioner and shown on their profile, so you can see the price before you contact anybody. Most sessions fall between £50 and £140. Some practitioners keep a small number of lower-cost places. Where they do, it says so on the profile.
Do I have to bring my partner?
No. A great deal of relationship work starts with one person. Practitioners who see individuals about relationship difficulties are marked as such, and you can filter for them.
Is it confidential?
Yes, within the limits every UK therapist works to: they may break confidence if someone is at serious risk of harm. Your practitioner will explain exactly where that line sits in the first session, before you tell them anything.
What if I cannot afford it?
Ask the practitioner before you book. Several offer reduced rates and will say so if asked. If cost is the barrier, your GP can refer you to NHS talking therapies free of charge, and Relate offer fees on a sliding scale.
Can I be seen at home?
Some practitioners travel. Home visits are a filter on the search, and the practitioners who offer them show their travel radius and any additional fee on their profile.
What if I need help right now?
This is not a crisis service. Samaritans answer 24 hours a day on 116 123, free from any phone. The National Domestic Abuse Helpline is 0808 2000 247. If someone is in immediate danger, call 999.
You do not have to know what kind of help you need
Answer a few questions and we will show you the practitioners who work with what you are dealing with. It takes about two minutes and costs nothing.
